Naturopathic medicine is a system that uses natural remedies to help the body heal itself. It embraces many therapies, including herbs, acupressure, exercises, and nutritional counselling.Naturopathy was brought to the United Kingdom from Germany in the 1800s, but some of its treatments are centuries old. Today, it combines traditional treatments with modern science.
Herbal Medicine is also known as botanical medicine, Phytotherapy or Phytomedicine
involves using a plant or Part of a plant for healing purposes. The herbal part of a
Remedy may come from the leaf, flower, stem, seed, root, Fruit or bark of the plant and it may be used to treat all Ranges of health conditions.
Psychotherapy refers to a range of treatments that can help with mental health problems, emotional challenges, and some psychiatric disorders.
It aims to enable patients, or clients, to understand their feelings, and what makes them feel positive, anxious, or depressed. This can equip them to cope with difficult situations in a more adaptive way.
Often, the course of therapy lasts under 1 year; individuals who are eager to change and willing to put in the effort often report positive results.
Psychotherapy can provide help with a range of problems, from depression and low self-esteem to addiction and family disputes. Anyone who is feeling overwhelmed by their problems and unable to cope may be able to benefit from psychotherapy.
Combined with medication, it can play a role in treating bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.
Cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) is based on the idea that our emotions are produced by our thoughts. It asks you to challenge unhelpful ‘head-talk’– the things we tell ourselves every day.
For example, you might think, ‘the presentation I’m doing tomorrow will be a disaster’. This causes you to feel anxious and depressed.
In CBT, your therapist asks you to provide the evidence for this thought, and the evidence against it. You are then asked to suggest a more balanced view of the situation by seeing both sides.
CBT is often used to treat depression and anxiety.
Family therapy involves family members talking to each other under the guidance of a therapist. It aims to get everyone in the family working together to get you well again.
Family Therapy – or to give it its full title, Family and Systemic Psychotherapy – helps people in a close relationship help each other.
It enables family members, couples and others who care about each other to express and explore difficult thoughts and emotions safely, to understand each other’s experiences and views, appreciate each other’s needs, build on strengths and make useful changes in their relationships and their lives. Individuals can find Family Therapy helpful, as an opportunity to reflect on important relationships and find ways forward.
Psychovisual Therapy (PsyV) is one of the most powerful mental re-programming systems in use today. Positive response is quick and, used properly, the system is safe with no side-effects. Since it deals with the cause of the problem, rather than its symptoms, its effectiveness is marked even among those who have already attempted other techniques.
How does it work?
We are all affected by color and shape. Certain shapes and colors will relax, stimulate and create either balance or unease.
Balanced, full-spectrum visual induction patterns, encoded with specific subliminal suggestions, present new programming, below the conscious threshold of perception, directly to the sub-conscious mind.
Psycho- Sexual therapy is a professional and an ethical treatment approach to problems of sexual function and expression. It reflects the recognition that sexuality is of legitimate concern to professionals and that it is the right of individuals with expert assistance with their sexual difficulties. Psychosexual therapy, then, is the focusing of specialized clinical skills on helping men and women as individuals and/or as couples to deal more effectively with their sexual expressi
on.
Psychosexual therapy is the result of relatively recent scientific attention to human sexual function and dysfunction. Out of the increased knowledge of the physiology and psychology of human sexual behaviour has come a new professional appreciation for the human sexual response. At a time in our society when sexuality is being more openly discussed, we are beginning to realize how uninformed many people really are about this important personal topic.
Like practically all family therapists, we are rather active in therapy sessions; We cannot conceive of doing marital or family therapy in a passive, nondirective way. Because of the multiplicity of events on numerous levels, some degree of control of sessions by the therapist is necessary. For instance, since there is such deep and abiding resistance to bringing in family of origin, and because of my convictions about its value, I tend to come down rather hard on that subject; that is the one area where we most directive.
FAMILY COUNSELING AND THERAPY Following the initial diagnostic sessions, where we abstain from making interventions, our conversational style usually consists of a fluid blend of questioning, empathizing, challenging, stage directing, avoiding snares, confronting, balancing, supporting, reflecting, disagreeing, and, when relevant, judicious sharing of some of our own life experiences. On the subject of self-disclosure, We think it important that the therapist convey in some form that he has experienced pain and loss, shame, guilt, and disappointment, as well as the exhilaration and joys of living. I even think it is helpful at times to communicate the reality of one's own parenting difficulties as well as of one's own marriage as going through up-and-down phases. It is just as unwise to support the fantasy of the therapist's life as ideal as it is to overburden clients with one's own.
NLP stands for ‘Neuro Linguistic Programming’ and has been around since 1970’s when its co-founders, Richard Bandler and John Grinder first modelled the therapists Milton Erickson, Gregory Bateson, Fritz Perls and Virginia Satir.
ANLP defines NLP as a collection of models, techniques and strategies for modelling excellence, in order to help us better understand how our thought processes and behaviour, including how the language we use, influences the way we think and the results we get. Modelling excellence in any field enables us to bring about a positive change in ourselves and others.
A literal translation of the phrase 'Neuro Linguistic Programming' is that NLP empowers, enables and teaches us to better understand the way our brain (neuro) processes the words we use (linguistic) and how that can impact on our past, present and future (programming). It gives us strategies for observing human behaviour and learning from the best (and worst) of that!
LOA coaching will bring into your life people and situations that reflect your level of consciousness/behaviours. That angry person you know in your life for example always seems to find people and situations to be angry with or about.....that is law of attraction.
Imagine if you start living your life with more awareness and conscious intent to calibrate your feeling, thinking and behaviours towards the life and the conditions you want to live?
The results will be a result of the way you live your life - the process in other words. The outcome is a result of living that process.
Living a healthy, happy life is something many of us want to achieve, but what does it mean to live healthily? Generally, it refers to the practices we use and the choices we make to improve and support our good health. If a person lives a healthy lifestyle, they may actively follow a balanced diet, exercise regularly and care for their mental and physical well-being.
With the growing health and wellness industry, it’s now very easy to find information on and offline, but much of this is conflicting. While many people will be able to make healthy choices and maintain a healthy life on their own, others need some guidance.
As a life coach we decide to assist anyone who wants coaching, or choose to specialize in coaching people in a specific area, such as: business, careers, family, mid-life, relationships, retirement, spirituality, self-awareness, time management, wellness, weight management, or work/life balance
